For decades, Martha’s Vineyard has been a popular spot for weddings – with good reason. With its unique towns, historic buildings, bucolic farmland, quaint Main Streets, and miles of sandy shores, it really does offer a wide range of backdrops for a ceremony or reception. At this year’s Martha’s Party Wedding + Event Conference, hosted by Island Weddings magazine, we aimed to highlight many of those iconic scenes while offering ideas and inspiration for planners or couples preparing to host their own Island wedding.

It was a jam-packed day for attendees as they hopped on MV Sightseeing’s classic white trolley to travel around the Island to visit seven venues: from the historic Dr. Daniel Fisher House and Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, to the rustic grounds of the Lambert’s Cove Inn & Resort in West Tisbury, to Oak Bluffs’ newest restaurant and event space: Inkwell Beach Club. Activations at each stop highlighted vendors that couples can book for their wedding day or auxiliary events, from a luxury picnic setup by Martha’s Vineyard Picnic and a mocktail bar from Social Coast Beverage Co. to an interactive hat styling table by The Hat Social and a caviar tasting by Caviar Dream.

The day culminated at the Vendor Showcase at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury, where food and drink purveyors served up bites and sips alongside spring, summer, fall, and winter tablescape and lounge displays (see the ’Tis the Seasons editorial photo shoot on page 52). Tunes from The Black Eyed Susans, a silent disco provided by Luke Renchan Entertainment, and a photo booth from Magical Moments MV completed the party vibe.
