When Madelyn Driscoll started envisioning her August 2024 wedding to Christopher Sellers on Martha’s Vineyard, she knew the getting-ready moments needed to have the same joyful energy and thoughtful style as the rest of the festivities. “I knew I wanted my [bridesmaids] to get ready in something that represented my venue,” she said. But she also wanted it to be comfortable and cute for moments beyond the big day.
Her solution? Katydid Martha’s Vineyard pima cotton polo pajamas. The short-sleeve sets feature the Island, its five lighthouses, Edgartown’s Old Whaling Church, the Chappy Ferry, and many more iconic Vineyard details.
On the morning of the wedding, Madelyn and her bridal party – nine of her nearest and dearest – gathered at the Dr. Daniel Fisher House in Edgartown to get ready. Waiting for them were beautifully arranged gift baskets curated by Madelyn, each one filled with essentials: cozy slippers, jewelry, and, of course, the pajamas. The bridesmaids wore the blue version and her mother and mother in law coordinated in the lilac shade, while Madelyn stood out in timeless all-white pajamas – a subtle nod to tradition.
“It was a beautiful, late-summer day, the sun was warm and bright,” Madelyn recalled, adding that the morning couldn’t have gone more perfectly. With matching pajamas, memories were made long before the first look.
Katydid Martha’s Vineyard pajamas ($125/set) can be purchased online at katydidmv.com or at their store at 38 Main Street in Edgartown.
