Say Yes: Maggie & David

A picnic proposal.

Margaret “Maggie” Fahey and David Andrews III’s love story began on a July night in a New England bar. Maggie took a chance and asked David for his number. He gave it to her, then offered her a ride home. After three years of dating, David decided it was time to flip the script and ask Maggie a life-changing question of his own.

For David, there was no better place to propose than on Martha’s Vineyard. He grew up on the Island, and he and Maggie have shared countless visits here with family and friends, building new memories along the way. With help from photographer Angelina Topalieva of AnicaBanica Photography and Juliana Dostal of Martha’s Vineyard Picnic, David set his sights on creating the perfect proposal at one of Maggie’s favorite spots – the Edgartown Lighthouse.

But nature had other plans. A full moon the night before caused unusually high tides, making the lighthouse inaccessible that morning. So Dostal and Topalieva scouted new locations and settled on Owen Park Beach in Vineyard Haven.

There, with their dog Smokey by his side, he waited. Maggie arrived and David led her down a path lined with bamboo tiki torches. At the end of the trail, a bubble
igloo tent awaited with a dreamy picnic set up inside filled with oversized pillows and natural florals. Dropping to one knee, David asked Maggie to marry him. Through joyful tears and laughter, she said yes.

A June 2026 wedding in New Hampshire is planned.
