Scarlett & Jeremy

A stress-free elopement in downtown Edgartown.

Scarlett Cain and Jeremy Savoie met through a mutual friend twenty years ago. But it wasn’t until 2020, when their paths crossed again, that the pair began dating.

A little over two years later, they were ready to tie the knot. Due to their busy lives – which includes raising eight children – they decided to elope as they wanted their day to be “intimate and stress-free.” After researching several locations, Scarlett and Jeremy selected Martha’s Vineyard. “We were both drawn to the charm and romanticism of the Island,” said Scarlett.

Working with Jacalyn Kane and Laura Orlescu of My Vineyard Elopement, they chose Sheriff’s Meadow Sanctuary in Edgartown as the backdrop for their vows.

On the morning of their elopement, due to a mix-up the weekend before with their marriage license, they had to go to the courthouse in downtown Edgartown to appear in front of a judge to expedite it. Once approved, Jeremy went back to their hotel room while Scarlett got her hair and makeup done.

Following lunch, they dressed for the ceremony together before heading out. “Walking hand-in-hand toward the beautiful location for our ceremony was surreal,” Scarlett said. In front of Sheriff’s Pond they exchanged their vows followed by their first dance and a champagne toast.

“Coming from South Louisiana, we were completely blown away and in awe of the location...for our ceremony,” Scarlett reflected. “To see it in person, we could not have asked for anything more.
