In a first of its kind event on Martha’s Vineyard, local and regional wedding professionals gathered May 15 – May 17, 2023, at the Winnetu Oceanside Resort in Edgartown for the Martha’s Party Wedding & Event Conference. Over the course of three days, attendees gained insight from local panelists about the ins and outs of wedding and event planning on Martha’s Vineyard and got tips and tricks from regional speakers for building and expanding their businesses, all while networking with vendors from on and off the Island.
The panels featured vendors with Island ties to best advise those who are looking to expand their market to Martha’s Vineyard. Topics included venues, tourism, local cuisine, and how to produce weddings and events on the Island. Speakers covered broader topics focused on the industry as a whole, such as elevating your wedding game and sustainability strategies in the luxury market, to the importance of social media, the power of local and global partnerships, and the value of building and maintaining relationships and reputations.
Off-site events included a tour of some of the event spaces the Island has to offer. And during an evening party at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury, a diverse group of regional and local vendors showcased their talents through cocktails, small bites, and entertainment.
Following the conference, attendees left with the knowledge, insight, connections, and confidence to plan their own event on Martha’s Vineyard.
