Abigail & Edison

A classic Vineyard wedding with good food, music, and loved ones.

Abigail Apistolas and Edison Parzanese weren’t focused on making their wedding “Instagram-worthy” or sweating the small details – especially after postponing for a year because of the pandemic. They wanted to make sure they had a classic Vineyard wedding with good food and music, and to be surrounded by family and friends. “I was more focused on having it be a really fun party with everyone there,” Abigail said.

Their September wedding at Flat Point Farm in West Tisbury checked everything off their short list. And with the late-summer sun and the water of Tisbury Great Pond sparkling in the background, it was photogenic too.

The couple met in New York City, where they both work in finance. But they easily decided to get married on Martha’s Vineyard, where Edison grew up. The water view at Flat Point Farm made their venue another easy decision. “It felt very not over the top, just an amazing location,” Abigail said.

The couple quickly postponed their September 2020 wedding after the pandemic started, with the help of Doriana Klumick at Plan It MV. “Getting all Martha’s Vineyard vendors was the best thing,” Abigail said. “It made the planning so much easier.”

Everything unfolded as planned, just a year later. Pink, orange, and white flowers from Morrice Florist added splashes of color. “I went for what would pop at Flat Point Farm and accentuate the natural environment,” Abigail said. “I loved the flowers. They ended up being one of my favorite things.” The ceremony, officiated by Jacalyn Kane of My Vineyard Elopement, took place in the farm field with a floral arch framing the water beyond. “Being able to have our ceremony right by the water was very special,” Abigail said.

After the ceremony and a group photo, the couple took a minute to be alone, drink a glass of champagne, and reflect. Then it was time to party. The dinner menu from Annie Foley Catering & Party Planning featured grilled swordfish, corn pudding, and tomato and zucchini tian. The Sultans kept everyone dancing until long after the stars came out and lights came on in the tent. Guests went home with goat milk soap from the farm.

“Finally getting to dance with all our family and friends was the perfect way to end our day,” Abigail said.

The couple’s goldendoodle, Archie, chaperoned by Al Fresco Tails Pet Sitting, even made a star appearance at cocktail hour. “He was a big hit,” Abigail said.
