Samuel Adaramola and Raven Best had never visited Martha’s Vineyard before. But the couple, who have been together for three years and are expecting their first child, thought it would be a great choice for a babymoon. “We’ve always heard great things about how peaceful it is, so we thought it would be the perfect getaway,” Samuel said. He also thought that Martha’s Vineyard would be the perfect place to propose to Raven.

“She wasn’t expecting a proposal at all,” he said. Wanting that special moment to be caught on camera, he reached out to Island photographer Larisa Stinga. “She suggested going to Inkwell Beach [in Oak Bluffs],” Samuel said. “We only had one shot to make it happen because the weather wasn’t looking great for our stay there.” Thankfully, on the day of their arrival, the weather held off and they made it to the beach right before sunset. There, Samuel asked Raven to marry him. The couple is planning to wed in the fall of 2022.
