Brandon Gibson had the perfect plan for his proposal to Brittney Bright. It would be in Aquinnah, on the beach by the cliffs, and photographer Randi Baird would capture the moment. He did a dry run with his dad the day before and it went off without a hitch. The same could not be said about the next day.

“The plan was simple,” Brandon said. “Go to the beach, see Randi…walk the beach until I got to a big boulder where I was supposed to get on one knee and propose.” Easy enough. But it had rained that day, so Brandon first had to convince Brittney to go to the beach. Then, when they got there, she wanted to dip her toes in the water and sit. Throwing the boulder proposal aside, Brandon went to get the ring out, only to realize he had lodged it deep in his shoe. He stalled by asking Brittney to look out at the ocean. As she did, he got the ring out, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said yes.
