Welcome gift bags filled with fresh bread, local chocolate, and a dash of Texas pride set the tone for Lindsay Wilken and Byron Lynn’s September 2024 Island wedding. “It was really important to us to do something to thank our guests, since so many people were traveling from afar,” Lindsay said.
With the help of planner Sandy Brooks-Kovacs of Timeless Event Planning, the couple curated seventy-five gift bags (one per couple). They selected the Boat and Tote bags from L.L. Bean and embroidered them with a playful “Yeehaw,” a subtle nod to the bride’s Texas roots. Inside were a custom deck of playing cards featuring their wedding stationery design from Wouldn’t It Be Lovely, Island-made chocolates from Salt Rock Chocolate Co., a bottle of Sanpellegrino, and a freshly baked baguette from Morning Glory Farm in Edgartown – wrapped in the same custom design print as the playing cards – paired with mini jars of Bonne Maman jam.
Brooks-Kovacs styled the bags, placing a note and schedule of events inside before tying each with a bow. She set them up at the welcome party at the Reading Room in Edgartown. “Our guests stayed all over the Island, so it was easier to have the bags in one place,” Lindsay explained.
More than just welcome gifts, these totes told a story: a thoughtful blend of Vineyard elegance and playful personal details that left guests feeling celebrated from the moment they arrived on Martha’s Vineyard.
